Photo Special: Pimp My Barrow 2013!
The Tab picks out the best of the barrows!
On a lovely afternoon in May, hundreds of students descend on the square for the premier social event of the year – Pimp My Barrow!
Pimp My Barrow is a massive charity event held each year at UEA where teams compete with a ‘pimped’ barrow and a theme. This year the event started at 3:00PM (with teams arriving from 1:30) and the competitors headed out in three waves to visit some of Norwich’s finest pubs. Later on in the day there will be a barrow race at Eaton Park, before everyone de-barrows and heads back to the LCR in the evening for one of the biggest Saturdays of the year. The turnout this year was fantastic and every team put a huge amount of effort into their costumes and barrows – the Campus Kitchen held a BBQ outside and the weather was ideal. The Tab went to the square this afternoon to watch the event unfold and here is a selection of our favourite teams:
If you missed out on this then fear not – Pimp My Barrow will return next year for more barrow pimping, pub visiting, and LCR going action. Well done to everyone who took part this year, the barrows were brilliant!
