Barely legal: Youngest ever barrister graduates
Gabrielle Turnquest, 18, graduated from the University of Law today, making everyone else feel old and useless
Cat ByersFor most of us, the closest we ever got to law at the age of 18 was finally drinking legally.
But 18-year-old Gabrielle Turnquest, from Windmere, Florida (in the US, durr), has taken things a bit further to become the youngest barrister in the country.

Today, she graduated from the University of Law’s Bar Professional Training Course. The average age of students graduating from the BPTC is 27.
She completed her first degree (a BSc in Psychology) at the age of 16, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Law the next year.
Not content with already being ridiculously well-educated, she plans to continue her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Apparel Industry Management, with a view to break into fashion law.
In a nice bit of PR for the Uni of Law, Gabrielle said: “I am honoured to be the youngest graduate student to pass the Bar exams in England and Wales and grateful to The University of Law for helping me achieve this milestone.
“Studying at the University of Law has broadened my horizons and introduced me to a global legal system that will help me in my future career in the international fashion industry.”
