The Daily Mail says you’ve been posing for photos wrong your whole life
Rethink everything
You are making yourself ugly because you don’t know your good side, according to picture experts at The Daily Mail.
The right wing rag has found women look more attractive when viewed from their left hand side, rather than the right. This comes as a startling contradiction that your right side is often the prettiest.
A poll of over 1,000 women found almost a quarter prefer their right side compared to just 18 per cent for the left. But 43 per cent didn’t have the decency to pick a side.
Women have fallen into the age old trap of listening to their instincts rather than relying on science, choosing their preferred side based on individual hairstyles, mole placements, scarring or features.
The left side of the face is controlled by the right hand side of the brain, which is responsible for emotion, meaning the left side of your face is therefore more likely to express emotions.
Psychologists from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, who conducted an experiment on the issue in 2012, said: “Our results suggest that posers’ left cheeks tend to exhibit a greater intensity of emotion, which observers find more aesthetically pleasing.”
The participants in the trial not only said they preferred the left-hand side, but their pupils were actually larger while looking at them, suggesting a subconscious feeling of pleasure.
Women are also paranoid about being unprepared for a photo, with four in ten women admitting to practising a full-body pose in preparation for being papped.
