Men enjoy wake-up sex most – but women peak between 11pm and 2am

Men prefer your morning breath

Mutually beneficial sex is a complete myth according to scientists who found the magic moment for men and women is half a day apart.

Men prefer morning breath and messy hair, enjoying their peak of passion at 7:54am before they start their day.

But night owl women enjoy their best sex between 11pm and 2am, hitting their pinnacle at 11:21pm.

A survey of over 2,000 looked at sex drive in both men and women.

It found 28 per cent of men wanted sex once they woke up, but 25 per cent of women wanted to keep their partner awake for sex.

In comparison, just 11 per cent of women felt at their friskiest in the early morning, while 16 per cent of men were most lively before bed.

Both sexes hit their low point between 3am and 6am, with just three per cent favouring sex over sleep.

The survey, conducted by sex toy company Lovehoney, found only half of men thought their partner wanted as much sex as they did. This rose to two thirds in women.

And two thirds of respondents said they’ve dated people with an opposing sex drive.

Lovehoney co-owner Richard Longhurst said: “This shows that there are big differences in sex o’clock between the sexes.

“Men are ready for sex just before breakfast whereas women most want passion last thing at night.

“What is encouraging is that most people tend to find sexual happiness in the end with a partner with similar needs.”

Half of men said their sex drive was constant compared to just a third of women, who said their sex drive was mostly dictated by their mood.
