Royal Agricultural Four banned from uni after summer ball rape court case

The Royal Agricultural Four have been banned from uni after they appeared in court accused of raping a girl at their summer ball. 

The attack is alleged to have happened on May 24, and the group of boys were charged with rape.

Now the Royal Agricultural University, whose President is Prince Charles, have banned the RAU Four from entering the uni grounds or buildings unless by special arrangement.

Thady Duff, 22 of Blunsdon, Wiltshire, and Leo Mahon, 20, of Cirencester, each face four charges of rape and one of assault by penetration.

Patrick Foster, 21, from Colchester, Essex and James Martin, 19, of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, are each charged with two offences of rape and one of assault by penetration.

Duff has also been charged with one count of sexual assault and possession of extreme pornographic films.

The public gallery was packed with friends and family of the young men who spoke only to confirm their names during the short hearing at Gloucester Crown Court.

A further hearing has been scheduled for December 18 and all four defendants were released on bail.

They were told they could not go to the Rava nightclub or Tunnel House Inn in Cirencester.

A provisional trial date was scheduled for March next year.
