I was roasted by The Basement for writing an article about how great it is

Everyone is so, so not nice

The Basement: a secretive Facebook group dedicated to the discussion of streetwear. Why is it special? Why does it matter? Because, for me, it’s one of the last pure, friendly, uncynical, non-acidulous places left on the internet. It is an anti-Cuntry Living. It’s people discussing their trainers, their music and their relationships in a laidback way. I wouldn’t hesitate to describe the entire operation as “cute.” It’s weirdly heartwarming and incredibly addictive.

So I decided to write about The Basement, and how nice everyone is there.

A typical basement fan

The article was, unsurprisingly, shared on the basement. It went down really well:

Great

Loves the caps lock does this guy

First they came for Charlie Hebdo

A poll was made, no option to put me inside a giant wicker effigy of Kanye and set me on fire unfortunately

This was in my inbox

Cool reference

Let’s find him and execute him!

Or #ban him

#FindKony2012

Technically I’m a contributing editor but w/e

This from a guy who pretty much only tweets about how much he loves John Terry

I don’t even read the tag

Never tell a group of people that they’re nice

Fair

Thanks everyone, I hope you enjoyed it.
