Secret Cinema is doing 28 Days Later for its next London project

And they’re announcing one in another currently undisclosed UK city

Secret Cinema has announced that its next project is a screening of Danny Boyle’s zombie movie, 28 Days Later.

Its the first time the live-action movie company -which is so secret that it has nearly 300,000 likes on Facebook – is doing horror. Previous productions have taken on 80s classics like Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Back To The Future.

If you haven’t seen it, 28 Days Later is a creepy post-apocalyptic thriller focusing on Jim (Cillian Murphy) a hospital patient who wakes up a month after a zombie-like virus has ravaged Britain and annihilated most of its population.

As well as the usual production in London, Secret Cinema will be putting on a show in another UK city, though the company is (actually) keeping the details of that one secret for now.

“Secret Cinema is excited to step into the world of horror with Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, a true British horror classic – we look forward to creating a suitably frightening and exhilarating experience,” says founder and creative director Fabien Riggall.

Secret Cinema does 28 Days Later will run from April 14 – May 29, and tickets go on sale 1pm on Thursday March 3 at secretcinema.org/tickets. They cost £64.50 plus a booking fee, which is more than you would usually sanction spending on a film that might make you cry with terror.
