Holylands anti-social behaviour officer appointed for St Patrick’s Day

Don’t rock the boat guys

The community affairs officer will serve to discourage anti-social behaviour tomorrow.

Ahead of tomorrow’s Paddy’s celebrations both Queen’s and Ulster University have teamed up to enforce regulation around anti-social behaviour on the day.
In an attempt to deter students from causing chaos in the area, a new officer position for anti-social behaviour has been put in place.
In recent years, the Holylands has been relatively calm and the Belfast unis are keen to maintain the peace. Every year the universities crack down on disruptions in the Holylands and consider St Patrick’s Day as one of the area’s major problem days.
Queen’s director of marketing Isabel Jennings told The Irish News: “While the majority of students who are found to have been involved in anti-social behaviour do not re-offend, any initiative that can prevent them from getting into this situation should be fully supported.”
Still, nothing will be as cringe as this video from Paddy’s 2012:
