Coroner confirms that Bristol student who died in March took their own life

The "sudden and unexpected death" of a second year economics student four months ago has this week been officially confirmed as a suicide.

Coroner Christopher Woolley at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court confirmed that a 20 UoB year old student who died in March 2018 did intend to take their own life with a verdict of suicide.

In the 20 months between September 2016 and May 2018, 11 Bristol students are believed to have taken their own lives with two further cases at the nearby University of the West of England.
