Second man arrested for sex attack in Cathays
He is being held at Cardiff Bay police station
A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the first sexual assault in Cathays this week.
The man, from Riverside, has been taken to Cardiff Bay police station.
Police also detained a 22-year-old man on suspicion of sexual assault yesterday.
The first assault happened at 3am on Sunday outside the uni Main Building.
The second attack occurred on Cathays Terrace, following a break-in, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The third happened in Gorsedd Gardens at 4.30am yesterday and resulted in a large cordon being in place for most of the day.
The Tab understands at least two of the three women assaulted, all aged 19 or 20, are students.

Speaking at yesterday’s press conference, Detective Chief Inspector Richard Jones, head of Cardiff CID, said: “Despite this arrest the investigation is very much ongoing.
“While there are similarities in terms of the locations, times and nature of the assaults, it is too early to say whether the same person is responsible.
“Their welfare is an absolute priority for us and all three are being supported by specially trained officers.”
