Man charged over Main Building rape
The attack took place in the early hours of last Sunday
Sarah BrownA 40-year-old has been charged with rape over the attack on a woman near the uni Main Building.
Remus Hamza has been charged with rape after the attack at 3am on Sunday September 20.
The Riverside man has been arrested and charged, and appeared before court on the morning of Saturday September 26.
The attack took place around 3am Sunday 20 and led to extensive enquiries including forensic examination and CCTV checks.
The Main Building
Hamza’s arrest was arrested on Friday and was taken to Cardiff Bay police station in connection to the Main Building assault.
He then appeared before the magistrate’s court on Saturday 26.
He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.

He was remanded in custody with a set date at Cardiff Crown Court for October 12.
Bench chair Fred Johnson told the defendant: “Due to the seriousness of the offence that brings you here this morning it can only be dealt with at the Crown Court.”
