TheBubbleBurning hosts the biggest gig in Durham

Preview of The BubbleBurning’s plans to host the biggest gig Durham has ever seen

This Thursday sees the return of TheBubbleBurning to Market Vaults in aid of UNICEF after last year’s roaring success. Only this year it promises to be the biggest gig Durham has ever seen.

TheBubbleBurning’s aim is to showcase the best of Durham’s musical talent, providing them with a platform to perform their original material. On Thursday, we are presented with the largest ever collection of artists that range from Rock, Blues, Acoustic and Indie on the top floor, to House, Garage and Bass downstairs. With five hours of uninterrupted music on two floors, there is something for everyone.

The first floor features amongst others, Timmy Fisher, who sat down for the Tab last week (read his interview here– ) crooning over a guitar, The Invitations- AKA the band who plays at Fabios, and the ever-present Van Mildert ‘Quays.’ Downstairs, to mention some, we have Soft Peaks, the curator for the bottom floor, Sloane Peterson (great Bueller reference there) and Jin-Jah, of NOVA fame playing his first night of a two night medley.

TheBubbleBurning’s goal is to foster a student community of musicians and music-lovers in Durham, and this line-up seems to reflect the eclectic bunch we are.
