UPDATED: Fake Fatsoma SSB Scam Spotted
Ticket site Fatsoma advertises fake SSB tickets
Imogen GroomeDespite the Students’ Guild confirming that no Safer Sex Ball will take place for the next two years, a fake SSB event has been found on ticketing site Fatsoma.
The event, which was discovered by a member of Exeter RAG, offered advance tickets at £24 and claimed to be held at Westpoint Arena on 11th December.
Westpoint Arena have confirmed they do not have such an event in their bookings.
RAG Officer, Henry Bowles, said: “As far as we are concerned, the event is a hoax. It was inevitable that someone would attempt to make a copy of our success.
“We don’t know who Exeter Exclusive are and they have made no effort to contact Exeter RAG.
The Students’ Guild staff dealt with the situation quickly and effectively, removing copyrighted material from the website in question and conforming that the booking at Westpoint (Arena) was invalid.”
The Students’ Guild are looking into the scam.
