Pimp my friend: Nick Zammit

Forget Westwood and Xzibit. When it comes to pimping style, Tab Fashion has the answer

Meet Nick: a third year Economics & French student, self-confessed gym addict and protein-shake worshipper.

On top of all that, he’s got more charisma than Sean Connery. Yet, for all of Nick’s charm, I noticed his wardrobe lacked the same conviction.

With the terrifying prospect of graduation looming in only a few months, he fancied a ‘fresh coat’ (pardon the pun) of style to prepare him for life outside of Exeter.

So, Tab Fashion took Nick on a spending spree around the City Centre to try out some new and different looks.

Before

This is Nick’s usual style. There’s nothing hideous about it at all – but he could definitely use some colour variation.

Look 1: Checked Zara Shirt

For this preppy outfit, we paired this checked Zara shirt with a pair of light blue chinos. It’s a simple, but classic, look that’s great for smart-casual occasions.

Look 2: Beige Zara Jumper

For this look, Nick’s wearing a beige Zara jumper, black jeans and a Zara dark brown leather holdall.

This is a great look for Nick because it takes his usual style (jumper and jeans), and adds an interesting element with the unique braided material of the jumper. A holdall is a great way for guys to smarten up an outfit, too.

Look 3: Topman Beanie

We raided Topman for this casual look. Nick’s wearing a black beanie, which compliments the colour of his black jeans. We then paired the beanie with a grey and white paisley patterned tee.

Patterned t-shirts are a great choice, because they turn an ordinary outfit into an interesting one. We layered the tee with a red waterproof coat, adding a bright element to the look.

Look 4: Tartan River Island T-shirt

If you’re looking to change your style, don’t be afraid to be bold. This River Island tartan-patterned tee is a great way to stand out.

The main thing we changed about Nick’s look is layering: the bright red tones of the shirt work well against the more muted colours of the green and black jacket.

Look 5: River Island Jacket

It’s time to ditch your old coat, Nick. Instead, we went for this two-toned River Island jacket.

A tailored jacket is a great way to liven up anyone’s style. Whilst still keeping him warm, it’s a brilliant way to turn a boring look into a stylish one.

We then combined the jacket with a statement tee, showing how easy it is to turn a plain outfit into a ‘Fashion in the Forum‘ worthy attire.

After

Laden with shopping bags, armed with the determination to wear more than just black, we present to you, Nick: one unbelievably happy – and rather stylish – shopper.
