One in 25 John Moores students will be a victim of violent or sexual assault

John Moores students are less likely to be a victim of crime than Liverpool students.

The Complete University Guide took the number of crimes reported from July 2015 to June 2016 per one thousand residents within student areas. These crimes include burglary, robbery and violence and sexual offences. They found that Liverpool John Moores University had a total score of five per cent for all crimes reported. Four per cent of people are likely to be a victim of violence and sexual offences, whilst burglary and robbery rates are at one per cent.

John Moores students are 0.1 per cent less likely to be a victim of total crime and violence and sexual offences than University of Liverpool students. Last year, 85 crimes were committed on Sheil Road alone with eight sexual assaults offences reported on Molyneux Road.

These statistics are based on all residents and not just students, the results are taken within wards or electoral divisions weighted by student population
