Trigger Warning: Sexual assault, rape
Police are investigating the rape of a 20-year-old woman who was walking around Great Dover Street at 2:15am on Saturday, 20 July.
The victim was walking down Great Dover Street when she was grabbed by the neck, threatened and taken to the wooded track leading from Brockham Street to Dickens Fields.
The woman was raped multiple times before she managed to run away to Trinity Church Square. The suspect is said to have caught up with the victim, at which point a car stopped.
The suspect exchanged a few words with the driver before escaping. Police currently have no description of the car or the driver.
A few moments later a different car stopped helping the victim and drove with her to Walworth Police Station. The police have had no contact with the driver.
Detective Sergeant Jonny Norman from Central South's Safeguarding team is leading the investigation. He said: "We are very keen to trace the driver of the vehicle who drove the victim to Walworth police station".
Officers are now linking this incident to a separate sexual assault on another woman in her 20s that occurred on Borough High Street two hours later at 3:50am.
Currently a 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with these offences and will appear in court later in August.
