St Andrews welcomes a new branch of Women for Women International. The sixth university in the UK to form this society based around women’s rights, education and justice, they have been hard at work creating a series of events to promote the NGO and to raise money and awareness.

On Thursday, March 1st, the committee has created a fabulous (and free! – but don’t be stingy) launch night at Mabells, featuring the DJ and band, Bring Back the Planes.

Not only have they created this ‘make love not war’ themed event, but they have also organised a film screening of The Greatest Silence this Tuesday evening in School III at 7pm and a sale of Harper’s Bazaar sponsored T-shirts with exclusive ‘W4W’ designs by Versace, Missoni and the like.

So get involved and get interested. And no, this isn’t feminist backlash in response to the recent ‘gendered issues’ of St Andrews – all students are welcome to support the cause.
