A second year management module, enterprise and creativity, requires students to set up a business. One group has decided to start an online dating service exclusive to St Andrews students.

There are no joining fees, all you need is a saintmail address to confirm you are a student and you are ready to date. One of the founders of the project, second year Paige Johnson said, “we wanted to create an area where students, single or taken, can identify and message other students based on similar interest”.

The group felt this was a niche market for those of us too busy with deadlines or too shy to penetrate the traditional St Andrews dating scene. Lord knows it’s a jungle out there.

Single fourth year Emily Allen says: “I think it’s a great idea. There can never be too many ways of meeting people. I just hope some good looking guys sign up so I can meet my match!”

Head down to The Vic this Thursday for the launch event. You will be able to set up your profile and get mingling. The first 50 sign-ups will be entered into a competition for a free date or two at a local restaurant.
