December protesters charged with disorder offences

They’ll appear in court next month


A trio of protesters who clashed with police will be dragged into court on anti-social behaviour charges.

On March the 5th, three of the Warwick For Free Education protesters will face Coventry Magistrates Court for potential Anti-social behaviour charges.

December’s protests saw police allegedly responding with tasers and CS spray after being called to Senate house an apparent assault against a university staff.

Unemployed Daniel Dawson, 24, of Shaftesbury Road, Earlsdon, has been charged with obstructing or resisting a constable in execution of duty and using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.

Alistair Robinson, 25, of Pershore Road, Birmingham, is charged with assault by beating and using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.

Student Luke Dukinfield, 19, of Radford Road, Leamington, is charged with using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.

The ‘Cops off Campus’ protest in response to the CS gassing in December.

There will be an investigation carried out by West Midlands Police into the conduct of officers at the Free Education Protest in December by the force’s Professional Standards Department.
