Warwick in London partners with UN agency for major international conference

Warwick in London is currently hosting a major international conference with the UN’s International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome.

Both Warwick in London and the Brookings Institution are key partners in this three-day conference, titled “Investing in inclusive rural transformation: innovative approaches to financing”. This conference will unite policy and decision makers, representatives of government organisations, the private sector, research and academic institutions and others, for solution-focused events and discussion.

Chief Strategy Officer for Warwick in London and Co-director of the Warwick Policy Lab, Siobhan Benita, will host the centre stage event on the final day. She will conduct an interview with Indian Economist Dr Ahluwalia, who is former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of the Republic of India. The topic will be “Rural Development – An Enabling Environment”.

The conference forms part of a wider collaboration between IFAD and the Warwick Policy Lab. This collaboration has already resulted in the IFAD’s Rural Development Report 2016 being hosted at Warwick in London in December.

The conference is currently being hosted at the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and IFAD’s headquarters in Rome, and began yesterday (25th January).
