Police launch investigation into ‘serious’ sexual assault in Smack last week
They have released images of a man who may hold information
Police have launched an investigation following a report of a serious sexual assault in a nightclub Leamington Spa.
A woman was assaulted in the early hours of Friday morning in Smack – one of Leamington's most popular clubs.
Warwickshire Police confirmed the attack happened in the club on Tavistock Street on January 24, and have put out two images of a man they believe may help the investigation.
The serious assault occurred during the launch party of Smack's new Thursday night out – called Misbehaviour.
The Facebook event for the night out read: "Thursdays are about to get naughty.
"Expect the Unexpected. Prepare for Misbehaviour."
Police tweeted the CCTV images of the man, urging anyone who recognises him to contact them.
They said: "We believe this man may have information which could help us with our enquiries following a serious sexual assault in Leamington.
"Anyone who recognises him, or the man himself is asked to contact us on 101."
The Tab Warwick has reached out to Smack for a comment.
