Warwick ranked in the top 10 best UK unis, according to The Times Good University Guide

The University of Warwick has been ranked ninth by The Times Good University Guide 2024.

The guide also placed Warwick as the top university in the Midlands, with the uni being consistently placed in the top 10 best UK unis since The Times’ first edition in 1998.

The Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide gives a ranking of around 131 universities across the country. They take into account a variety of factors, including teaching quality, student experience, research quality, entry standards, graduate prospects, rates of Firsts/2:1s and student-staff ratio.

In their guide, The Times reported that 85.8 per cent of Warwick students graduate with a First or 2:1 with an average graduate salary of £31,000.

Last year, Warwick also ranked ninth across the UK.

Overall, 24 subjects at the university were ranked in the top 10 nationally. Some of these include:

• Economics (first)
• Accounting and Finance (second)
• Business and Marketing (second)
• Liberal Arts (second)
• Politics (second)
• Classics and Ancient History (third)
• Communications and Media Studies (third)
• Philosophy (fourth)
• English (fifth)
• Mathematics (fifth)
• History (fifth)
• Physics (eighth)
• Law (10th)
• Engineering (10th)

Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor at the University of Warwick, said: “These rankings from the Times confirm what we know – that Warwick is a innovative, modern university and among the best in the country.

“Warwick’s high ranking in subjects across both the humanities and the sciences is a testament to the skill and passion of our community across a range of subjects.

“This position doesn’t happen by itself however, and we are very proud of the work put in by our staff and students to achieve this.”
