BU is one of the top 100 universities in the world

Oh yeah, we beat Boston College (again)

The Center for World University Rankings, or CWUR, released their 2016 list of the top 1000 world universities. The CWUR is known as one of the leading global university ranking groups, and consults governments and educational departments to improve education standards.

BU is ranked at #62, with Harvard University at the top spot of the list and MIT at number three.

The ranking includes the quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, publications, influence, citations, broad impact, and patents. They use all of this information to decide an overall score for the college.

The quality of education is measured by the number alumni who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals. The quality of faculty is determined by the number of international awards, prizes, and medals won by faculty. Influence refers to the number of academic papers published in well known journals.

Holding the spot at #62, Boston University has climbed four ranks from last year when we were 66th.

To make that number even sweeter, we beat Tufts, who sits at number 97 and Northeastern at 281.

Boston College who is at… number 338.

Additionally, in CWUR’s ranking US colleges this year, BU is ranked as number 39.

And BC is at… 120.

Boston College, what on earth happened?
