Recognition at last! CMU is officially one of the smartest colleges in America

Our tuition is finally worth it

Business Insider just released their list of the 50 smartest colleges in the US and guess who made the cut?

CMU is the 23rd smartest college in America, and suddenly all of the studying, cramming, and face-palming has been made worthwhile.

Jonathan Wei, a researcher for Duke University, published in the online business site, a ranking of schools based on student success, looking at graduation rates and students’ starting salaries after graduation. They also took SAT and ACT scores to see which schools enrolled the smartest students.

After all those calculations, CMU came out as the 23rd smartest college in America, with an average SAT score of 1436, right between Brown University (24th) and Amherst College (tied for 22nd with Johns Hopkins University).

Of course, it’s no surprise that MIT, Harvey Mudd College, Harvard, University of Chicago, and Cal Tech round out the top five, respectively (nerds).

But let’s not get ourselves down – we don’t pull those all-nighters for nothing. 23rd’s not a bad place to be.
