UF campus before and after Irma’s destruction
The University of Florida was spared from the most devastating parts of Irma, but there was still some heavy damage

Gainesville was spared the worst of Irma, but not having endured her at all would have been far better. All over Gainesville there are floods, toppled trees, damaged buildings, and power outages.
“Everything in CLO except the emergency lights and the stop light by the Chipotle is off,” explained a student living at CLO.
The stop light on 13th street is off too.
For the most part the campus was relatively unscathed. Aside from some branches, moss, and cloudy weather these photos aren’t too different.

But it’s the damage we couldn’t predict that was the most devastating and shocking.
