Georgetown law professor leaves Bush for Rubio
Prof Rosenkranz now advises for Rubio, despite $25k donation to Bush PAC
A day before the third GOP Presidential Debate hosted by CNBC, Georgetown constitutional law professor Nicholas Quinn Rosenkranz joined Senator Marco Rubio’s campaign team as Senior Adviser on Legal Policy and Constitutional Law.
Rosenkranz, who previously donated $25,000 to Right to Rise, the main super PAC supporting Jeb Bush’s campaign, shifted his allegiance by joining Bush’s rival.
The donation was known to be made in late April, according to Federal Election Commission filings, less than two months after Bush’s formally entered the presidential race.

Once a GOP favorite, Bush saw his polling numbers drop consistently over the past few months. In the latest poll by WSJ/NBC released on Nov 3rd, Jeb Bush has only 8 per cent of the support of GOP primary voters, well behind Carson’s 29 per cent and Trump’s 23 per cent.
“We appreciate his support,” said Right to Rise spokesperson of Professor Rosenkranz’s April donation.
Explaining the reason that motivated his change of heart, Professor Rosenkranz said in a statement: “We must elect a President who will honestly take care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”
He added: “Marco is deeply committed to recovering the original meaning of our Constitution and restoring its bedrock structure of limited government, federalism, and the rule of law.”
The renowned Constitutional Law expert placed enormous confidence and faith in the Senator, adding: “I trust Marco to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
The newest addition to Rubio’s campaign teams was met with warm welcome as Rubio’s policy director, J Slemrod, tweeted “Thrilled to have @profnqr on @TeamMarco.”
Professor Rosenkranz teaches constitutional law and federal jurisdiction at Georgetown Law School, and is a contributor to the Harvard Law Review and Stanford Law Review.
He often testifies before Congress as a constitutional expert, and files briefs and presents oral arguments in front of the US Supreme Court.
He is also a Senior Fellow of the Cato Institute, a public policy think tank, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Federalist Society.
