Wilson resident found dead after welfare check
He was found unresponsive in West Wilson hall Saturday afternoon
A male resident of West Wilson Hall has passed away.
He was found unresponsive Saturday afternoon. University personnel were sent to his room to perform a welfare check after being informed of his situation, where they discovered him dead at the scene.
In a floor meeting, Lance Sharp, a community director for Wilson Hall, said: “MSUPD said there is not a threat to the community at this time and everything is going to be taken into consideration.” They cannot speak on the cause of death, but they want residents to know that resources are available to help them with cope with this difficult situation.
J. Tawana Sina, staff for MSU’s counseling center said: “There’s no quick counseling that helps deal with the sadness. It’s always sad when someone with so much potential in the world is lost to us.”
The counseling center walk-in hours are from 10am-noon and 1pm-3pm and the phone number is (517) 355-8270.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
