UMich ranked 14th most reputable university in the world

Further proof that it truly is great to be a Michigan Wolverine

The Times Higher Education recently ranked the University of Michigan at number 14 on the 2016 version of their annual World Reputations Ranking. This is up five spots from last year’s edition, where UMich came in at number 19. This ranking is a spin-off of their annual World University Ranking and is determined by senior, published academics. The methodology used may be subjective, but reputation does hold a high degree of importance and the academics’ judgments are considered to be expert judgments.

Colleges and universities in the United States made up 15 of the top 25, with the only three public institutions being UC Berkeley, coming in at number 6, UCLA at number 13, and UMich at number 14. More importantly, however, is that we outranked both Ohio State and Michigan State, who came in so much further down on the rankings list that they don’t have their own rankings – they are categorized into ranges at 51-60 and 61-70, respectively.

It is, after all, always great to be a Michigan Wolverine.
