The creepy clowns have arrived in Ann Arbor
Just when you thought you were safe
Last night between 10:30 and 11pm two robberies took place involving people dressed like clowns carrying hand guns. One incident occurred at the BP on Washtenaw and the other occurred at the Dominos on Plymouth, and the police believe the two instances are related.
These incidents are especially frightening because of the recent clown trend taking over the nation. There have been multiple reports from across the country of people dressed as clowns terrorizing people or alleged and later debunked clown sighting hoaxes. The reports originated in South Carolina, where people dressed as creepy clowns were trying to lure children in to the woods. On a national scale, clown sightings have been anything from an “innocent” joke on social media, to merely stalking about, and some have been reported to be wielding knives and other weapons.
Why anyone would decide, “Hey, I’m going to be a piece of absolute trash and scare people who are just trying to walk home/ live their lives safely” is unknown, but hopefully it stops soon. I for one will be Ubering home every single night until this stops.
