My NYC staycation was way better than any of your Spring Break vacations

I may have been here all week, but I still win

At first, was I disappointed that I didn’t get to travel overseas or take a road trip with friends? Certainly. However, this didn’t mean that I didn’t have fun. In more ways than I thought possible, my staycation beat your vacation.

It started with the fact that I actually got to sleep in. Who the hell sleeps in while traveling to Mexico, Thailand, Canada, or the like? You’re only there for a limited time, so do as much shit as you can, right? Problem is, that approach doesn’t leave time to relax. Which is what I needed. And to watch movies like this on Netflix. :

Note: If you followed the Blue Mountain State TV series, this will be an awesome movie.

Also, the fact that I got to visit new neighborhoods. The Broadway of the Bronx, aka The Hub, is a major shopping center which includes plenty of food, from shopping unique to the area to chain stores. The weather wasn’t the greatest when I went, but it was still fun to go shopping outside of Manhattan or Brooklyn, and I almost certainly would not have had time to do it when classes are in session.

But the last three days were a feature in and of themselves. Friday consisted of BYO cup day at 7-Eleven (I had a huge container on hand). Saturday was, to simply describe it, an all-you-can-eat buffet of food around the city. Besides day two of BYO cup day, there were also two slices from a 36″ pizza, and Ben and Jerry’s in the same evening.

That slice is taller and wider than my head

Available at Koronet Pizza in the Upper West Side. Also I couldn’t finish the second slice. That’s how big they are (though they do taste good).

That’s how I ended last Saturday

Sunday was Macaron Day. And holy crap do I call eating a lot of macarons one hell of a dessert. Though that is a way to end Spring Break.

Coffee flavor that’s actually awesome

So while I didn’t get to travel abroad this year, I got dessert at epic proportions, pizza at new heights, saw new locations with their own interesting highlights, and watched plenty of TV and movies. Plus, as I’m not a current senior, I still have the future in which I can travel.

Therefore, my staycation beat your vacation. Q.E.D.
