The Tom W. Davis clock tower on North campus is finished at last. Wait, who is Tom W. Davis, again? Oh right, some rich businessman from Columbus who decided we all needed an ostentatious, $1.4 million, 75 ft. clock as if we aren’t looking at our phones 24/7 (which conveniently have the time right there at the top of the screen). Do people even know how to read analog clocks anymore?
But hey, I don’t blame the guy for doing what he did. We all want to leave our mark on the world in one way or another.
As fun as it is complaining about the new addition to campus, I’m actually 100 percent okay with it. For without it, there wouldn’t be all the hilarious memes that bring students together more than the clock tower probably ever will.
