Pitt football just gets better and better
Max Browne is hailing to Pitt
Former USC Trojan backup QB, Max Browne, has just announced his transfer to Pitt, and will start practicing with the team this spring. USC backup? Who cares?
Browne was the backup to star quarterback, Cody Kessler for three years. After being named starter at the end of last seasons spring training camp, Kessler went 1-2. Back up Sam Darnold replaced him. USC head coach Clay Helton barely gave Browne a chance.
After visiting Pitt this weekend, Browne has announced that he’d love to play his last year of eligibility in the Steel City.
“It’s way different than USC is in terms of the city and the feel and the weather and all that,” Browne told ESPN. “As far as the vibe to the team, the guys I was around when I was there, it was a good fit.”
“I got along with those guys. Really like them and it’s a great opportunity for me in my fifth and final year.” Who wouldn’t want to transfer after the combo of our beautiful school, city, and the ol’ Narduzzi-oozy charm?
With a passing percentage of 73.5, 12,951 total yards and 146 touchdowns, Browne had an awesome high school career. He also led is team to three straight Washington Class 4A state titles and won the last two.
Additionally, he was named Washington Gatorade Player of the Year Twice: in 2011 AND 2012 and awarded the Hall Trophy as US Army Player of the Year in the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
And now, he’s a panther. We’re giving him his first real shot, let’s see if this Cali-boy has got what it takes to thrive in the Steel City and lead the Panther Nation to another successful year.
