Pedestrian struck and killed by cement truck

The woman was walking across the intersection of Nassau St and Washington Rd

A pedestrian was struck and killed at a intersection bordering the university earlier today, Planet Princeton first reported. The Princeton Police Department identified the victim as Leslie Goodrich Rubin.

Princeton Police Department released the following statement:

"On 10/10/2017 at 4:47pm, a 2017 Terex Advanced cement truck driven by Ralph Allen was traveling west on Nassau Street. The Terex turned left onto Washington Road to travel south. The pedestrian/victim, Leslie Goodrich Rubin, was walking in an unknown direction in the crosswalk on Washington Road at Nassau Street. When the truck made the turn onto Washington Road, it struck Rubin, who succumbed to her injures at the scene. Allen did not report any injuries.

The Police Department is requesting that anybody who witnessed the crash to contact Traffic Safety Bureau supervisor Sergeant Thomas Murray at 609-921-2100 ext. 1879.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation."
