How much I spent at the bars during Syllabus Week

I’m scared to look at my bank account

The long awaited Syllabus Week is over. The one week where going out every day of the week is socially acceptable and may have left your wallet a little less fat.

I was a little surprised with myself that I didn’t go out every day like last year. Now finally being able to walk into a bar has also caused me to feel like a grandma. I can’t go out and not care about getting no sleep like I used to be able to do my freshman and even my sophomore year.

I spent a grand total of $46.50 for the week. Not too bad. That said, I’m also left wondering why I’m still buying my own drinks when I’m a girl. I need to use that to my advantage more.

Senior Lindsay Boivin also partook in some syllabus week festivities but only spent $15.50 for the whole week. Others could have spent this and a lot more in one night.

Her major key for budgeting at the bars? “I ended up going to a couple of house parties, which helped me save some money. When I went to the bars, I usually stuck to the deals of the night, which saved me money. Especially quarter beers on Monday at Where Else!”

Junior Tyler Prestholt spent a whopping $193.61 at the bars celebrating syllabus week. “Well I got excited ’cause I was back at Purdue and Harry’s so I went nuts.”

Senior Nick C. spent around $80. “It was my last syllabus week ever so I wanted to go out with a bang.”

Lucky for you, the bars are open with festivities like these everyday. Balling on a budget may have been okay for the first week back but skipping a bar pregame is a rookie mistake. Have fun catching up on $5 drinks when Four Lokos at Village Bottle Shop are $3.
