College Ave Gym turns off the lights for its second Knight Klimb
Did I mention I’m terrified of heights?
Rutgers students were treated to a night of glow-in-the-dark fun, as the College Ave Gym rock wall turned off its lights and brought on the glow sticks in the second Knight Klimb of the semester.
Called “Knight Klimb 2: Redux,” students came out to kick off their weekend with some rock climbing. The gym was thumping with upbeat music, and people of all ages came out to enjoy the glow and face their height-induced fears.
When I heard about the event, I was thrilled to try an experience I haven’t tried since I was a youngster and face my fear of heights once and for all.
Before I attended the event, I had heard rumors about the rock wall being in danger of being shut down.
One of the REC workers confirmed while, yes, there was serious talks about shutting it down last year – involving a petition – the talks eventually halted and the rock wall is in no danger of being shut down.
The event was a blast, giving everyone a chance to climb the wall and even help a few of us who are petrified of heights (me).
I made it up the rock wall halfway, and that’s an accomplishment all on its own.
If you haven’t done so already, stop by the Rutgers rock wall located in the College Ave Gym and see how far you can get. This time, with the lights on.
