Lil Uzi Vert is finally coming to the Liacouras Center – too bad we won’t be here

Tickets went on sale today for Lil Uzi Vert and Friends at the Liacouras Center for the show on Friday December 22nd. You heard that right- December 22nd, also known as the start of your winter break. You know, the one you've been daydreaming about since August.
After Owlchella was a bust without Young Thug, we figured there'd be something to make up for the huge disappointment. Even if this isn't technically a Temple event, this could've been that something — a mega A-List rapper finally playing just a few blocks away.
But, in true Liacouras Center fashion, they booked him when we won't even be here. Seriously, at this point this place might actually be cursed.
According to the 2016-2017 Temple University fact book, roughly 20% of the student population are from out of state, and even people in Pennsylvania could have a drive taking several hours to get back to campus. They charge a $300 fee to stay in residence halls for winter break which no one can afford, and even if you could, winter break is a time to be away from school and celebrate winter holidays. Why host an event on a college campus when we can't even be a part of it?
This concert is an even bigger deal than just a normal tour date because he's a North Philly native, and artists from here always make it an even better show when returning home.
