Why UCLA is the best college in Los Angeles, America and probably the world

We have the weather everyone wishes for, 75 and sunny all year round.  We’re based in the entertainment capital of the world.  We’re smart. We dominate sports and everyone knows it.

We work hard and play harder, so naturally everyone want to be us. We broke the record with 119,000 students applying this year, and if doesn’t prove we’re the best school in America, I don’t know what will.

The weather

It like never ever rains

I cannot stress this enough only – nothing beats being able to be outside wearing shorts in the middle of February when it should be freezing cold, or being able to wear a tank top while going out minus a giant parka.

UCLA is a place where you can be outside if you want to, and you can’t help but to smile a little when you walk outside and feel the warm sun hit your face. Even with El Nino coming in hot this year, there still is little to no rain compared to every other college in the country.

Brains over all

Since there are so many applications going into UCLA every year, you can almost guarantee every student here’s smart.

Being the #23 College in the nation shows – our students are not your average college kids. Bruins are seen in the library for hours on end. During week five and 10, aka midterms and finals, you won’t see much of us.

We’re surrounded by smart people, and studying on a Friday and Saturday is normal and expected.

The perfect location

10 minutes from the beach, five minutes from Beverly hills, and placed in some of the most expensive real estate in country, we’ve nailed it – unlike our the other school in LA which is placed in a far less desirable location. Welcome to UCLA, a place where everything is accessible.

We may not be UCSB and be basically in the ocean, but we’re close enough to the ocean to spend a day there while being in LA. We can go to any restaurant in LA or just sit back and enjoy our amazing dining halls – people living on the Hill don’t get sick of it, the food is too good. We have a whole city that is in the palm of our hands!

Unlike, east coast and mid west schools we have that California charm that makes us as hot as the weather.

The Aesthetics of Bruins are real. Simply walk around campus or on Hilgard and see a wide range of attractive people that you know are also smart -it’s a win win.

Better yet, go to the Wooden Center to workout knowing – you will see all of Greek life there. Unlike our other Pac 12 schools (the Arizona schools), UCLA’s full of good-looking people who are attractive, smart and classy.

GO BRUINS!

Nothing’s better than getting on the booze bus and tailgating on the Golf Course next to the Beautiful Rose Bowl on a beautiful and sunny fall day.

Cheering on the Bruins as they take down other teams and crying when they lose like they did this season. Bruins are there for our sports teams and our spirit is present whenever we unite to do an 8 clap. We have the best school spirit in the world!

We have the most national championships in all of the NCAA, making us the best sports school in the nation in all sports.

When it comes to sports, UCLA dominate.

Extra-curriculars aplenty

Clubs are chill. We have 1000 different clubs and student lead organizations that anyone can get involved with – just check out Bruin Walk. It is such a welcoming community.  You can find a club that relates to anything you’re interested in from dance to cooking to politics, to math and anything in between.

These clubs create not only a social aspect but also give back to the community around us. Clubs are such an important part of UCLA and it’s impossible to not find something you like.

We work hard and play harder

This is the definition of UCLA.

Every hour you spend studying your ass off is worth it. There’s nothing better than finishing an essay or midterm and then raging to the point that you question why you drank that Kirkland beer. It’s better than USC, we promise.

We are less exclusive and have genuine fun unlike USC, which makes you feel like you’re in high school getting judged by every one around you for not having enough money. We at UCLA are looking for a good time with our fellow Bruins and looking to forget that midterm we have due next week. So sit back, blackout and take that shot knowing that you are only young and in college once.

From studying to Westwood to parties to people to the Rose Bowl – UCLA is the best school on the planet by far. Even if you aren’t a Bruin, let’s be real – you wish you were. So next time you question the awesomeness of UCLA, just look around to see a beautiful campus in an amazing sunny city, and realize how lucky you are to be a Bruin!
