Goodbye November, hello December, here’s what you missed at UConn
Have a holly jolly finals week
Fellow Huskies, it’s that time of the year again. It is quite arguably the most wonderful time of the year. Yes oh yes it is the holiday season.
As I am sitting down writing, Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is you” is accompanying my thoughts in the background.
See what UConn brings to the table in this first week of the last month of 2015.
Son on a Nutcracker, I still have to get through finals
So as No Shave November rolls to a sad, but a most needed end, December brings forth this magical time of the year, which happens to also include one of the most dreadful weeks of 2015, finals.
Friends, it is now time to face reality, step out of that Thanksgiving induced coma we have all been living for the past week and realize exams are ONE WEEK away. Yes. One week.
Which means the Calc book which has been helping you collect dust all semester might actually need to be opened up. And all of those chapters from your Psychology book you “forgot to read” all semester, should use a little brushing up on.
Whip out your number two pencils, your colorful notecards, sticky notes, highlighters, and study your butts off, because finals week is looming in the very near road ahead of us. So work hard, get it done, and then be free for a month!
And for all of you Accounting majors with a Sunday exam, our thoughts are with you as we will all be in bed sleeping, enjoying our start to winter break and thanking ourselves for not majoring in Accounting.
This week our school was HOT, like so hot firetrucks came
Apparently things this week on campus got pretty heated up, literally. On Wednesday December 2, around 3:45 firetrucks were called to MSB. Luckily the incident was minor and only sparked lots on conversation on Yik Yak and was a highlight on social media.
Staying strong on the court
This week was a strong week for the UConn men’s basketball team as they win against Sacred Heart on Wednesday night. Although starting off to a slow start, the UConn men stepped up their game and finished with an 82 to 49 win against SHU. This win adds to the 5-2 record our mighty men hold so far this season.
Starting off with an undefeated season (as per usual), Saturday night brought forth our toughest match of the season. Never fear, our lady Huskies slayed the Irish and outscored them 91-81. The women continue bringing home the W’s.
Bye Bye Bank Account
Just when you thought eating Ramen seven nights a week and buying cheap alcohol would help you to alleviate the debt you owe to UConn for college tuition, BAM…we get hit with a proposal to increase tuition even more. What?? An increase in tuition??
Looks like I’ll be cutting down my consumption of Ramen from seven nights a week to three. For all of you CT residents, be prepared to pay $3,000 extra bucks for your education, and for all out of States, hand over $4,000 as soon as four years from now.
Yes friends, if you aren’t in debt already be prepared to start collecting every penny you find laying around on the streets, in the dryer, or even your little sister’s piggy bank, cuz we are about to potentially get hit by a tuition rise greater than rise of the snow piles by North Garage in the winter time. Eastern keeps looking better and better….Just joking guys, UConn is forever number one in my heart.
