Puppies and finals and football, oh my
Put down that text book and take a moment to catch up on what you missed at UConn this week
Contrary to what the weather is telling us, winter and the holiday season is rolling in…bring with it seasons cheers, fun happenings on campus, AND finals.
So while you all where brushing up on your notes, here’s some happenings you may have missed, along with some indulgent ways to combat finals stress.
Do you want to die of cuteness overload?
Have you seen it? For all of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, or haven’t looked at your emails from UConn for the past 3 months, I’m talking about UConn’s holiday greetings video 2015 style!
This astonishingly adorable video sent out this week is sure to get you in the holiday spirit and brighten your day. So for all of you, who haven’t yet seen it, check out our four legged friends spread holiday cheer throughout campus!
UConn football for the W!….well kinda, we made it to a bowl game
Big shout out to UConn football this week for making it to a bowl game this season! As the football season wraps up, and winter rolls in our men gear up for one last hurrah! Our Huskies will be traveling to sunny Florida for the St. Petersburg bowl against Marshall on December 26. Good luck to our men as they fight for a victory one last time. Let’s hope they bring back a win…and maybe some Flordia sunshine to warm up our CT winters.
What the heck is a SET Survey and can it help me get an A?
To answer this, no, no it cannot get you an A. As many of you may have noticed our professors have been continuously nagging us this past week day in and day out to complete these SET Surveys. I know it’s tedious and annoying—who wants to spend their precious time taking an “optional” survey about some gen-ed class that you took as a GPA booster? Not me…or like 75 percent of the other students at UConn.
Although these surveys may seem tedious for us, our lovely professors keep pushing us to answer in our most honest way in order to get feedback for their teaching styles. Even though they may seem mind-numbing and quizzical, just remember that it could benefit our future little Huskies. So take a break from your Netflix marathon and take a couple minutes to complete these surveys to further benefit our future education.
All I want for Christmas is an A, or just a passing grade please
Attention all. The time has come. I hope you all have studied intensely, highlighted uncontrollably, and sticky noted every other page of your 1,500 page history book. Friends, it’s Finals Week. Congratulations, we have all made it through 2015’s fall semester.
Every 8am you’ve woken up for…or slept through…every homework you have worked through, and every lecture you have intently attended, has led to this point, and boy oh boy aren’t we all just thrilled.
Yes, as this very well spoken yaker states, calories do not count during finals week y’all
So remember as you begin your endeavors of this week long period of pure angst and study driven outbursts of tears, laughter, and yelling, that fueling your body and mind is key to success.
With that in mind, here are a few tasty treat ideas to help you combat that studying stress.
Cheese Balls: This one’s kind of a no brainer. The cheesy goodness of joy.
Chocolate: C’mon, who doesn’t love chocolate?? Boost that energy and those endorphins with some good ole Hershey’s. Grab a bar (Or bag) for the perfect energy inducing study buddy.
Peanut butter: My personal favorite protein packed jar of goodness. All you need is a spoon and you’re good to go my friends.
For my fellow Huskies, remember to fuel up, and stay positive. The road ahead you might be tough, but in time you all will be delving into the holiday festivities, endless spoonful’s of your mama’s Christmas cookie dough, and spending time with your drunk Auntie Pam who may have had one too many cups of that spiked eggnog. All in all, good luck friends! Go out and ace those exams!
