Clown sightings reported at UConn a ‘hoax’

‘There is no clown,’ said a UConn police officer

UConn is the latest campus to now have reported clown sightings on campus. There have been sightings of clowns reported tonight at the library and at Near cemetery close to North.

UConn police has not released an official statement, but are currently investigating reports at North Hall. There is a crowd forming outside of North, and several students are carrying shovels and hockey sticks with them.

Cops have gone to investigate the cemetery, and have now exited the scene calling the sightings a “hoax”.

“It was a hoax guys, there is no clown,” said one officer.

However, groups of students are still outside.

There was also a sighting of a clown reported outside of Towers. Photos of any clown on campus have yet to appear, but rumors of sightings continue to pop up. A formal statement from UConn police or UConn officials has yet to come in.

“10/10 will most likely cry if it comes anywhere near me.” said Francesca Lam.

Cops are going around asking if any students have seen a clown. “Who has seen a clown? If I’m lying, tell me who has seen a clown.”

They have now moved back to Near cemetery with a crowd following of at least 20 people.

Sightings of clowns have been reported across the campuses including Syracuse University, University of Delaware, UMass Amherst, and University of Illinois.

The Tab UConn will continue to release information as the situation is updated.

Please stay safe and advise UConn police about any clown sightings on campus.
