UGA car crash survivor Agnes Kim released from Shepherd Center
Kim no longer needs round-the-clock care
After months of rehabilitation following a fatal car crash in April, Agnes Kim was discharged from the Shepherd Center in Atlanta on Wednesday.
Kim survived the crash that claimed the lives of four other UGA students, but she suffered major physical and brain injuries. The former UGA student was granted her Marketing degree from the university while she was still in critical condition following the incident.
After the April crash, friends and family members, as well as the larger UGA and Athens community, began contributing to Agnes’ medical bills via a crowdfunding project. The website also provided updates of Kim’s condition.
When she began speaking on September 4th, the website featured a video of Agnes thanking her supporters.
Kim will continue rehabilitation in the Day Program, but no longer needs round-the-clock care.
