Favorite hangover foods of UMass

What distracts you from your splitting headache?

We’ve all been there before – you wake up after a night of going hella hard with a massive headache and an aversion to bright lights and loud noises.

The first thing you reach for is usually water, given that you’re SO thirsty, but after that, personality comes into play. You’re hungover, you’re hungry, what do you reach for?

We asked around on a Saturday morning about how they were feeling and what their favorite hangover food is.

The answers weren’t nearly as interesting as I thought they would be – a few people said pancakes, some (including myself) mentioned pizza, and a few other miscellaneous breakfast foods were thrown in.

Roger, a freshman business major chows down despite lack of Taylor Ham

One kid just said, “Anything greasy,” and another went into fine detail about the breakfast he makes for himself the morning after (how he has the energy to do it, I don’t know. I just don’t know).

My friend Roger got specific with his brand names saying that he can only eat “Taylor Ham Mac & Cheese on a bagel” when he’s hungover.

However he’s from New Jersey, and that’s the only place they sell Taylor Ham, so he isn’t doing so great with the whole college hangover thing.

There were the also responses that lacked food altogether. Coffee was a common answer, sometimes black sometimes with cream, sugar, or other flavoring.

One girl automatically responded,“I don’t eat when I’m hungover” and continued on with her day. Alrighty then.<

Madi, freshman with an undeclared major

Out of all the people I surveyed, there was one answer that was heard more than the rest. An answer given only by guys, but still, one that was given more than any other. What is this favorite hangover food, you ask?

Pussy.

Come on, these are college guys we’re talking about, what did you expect? For the record, only 4 out of 8 of them were serious.

Zi, economy and legal studies freshman

Whether you don’t eat or only eat out when hungover and everywhere in between, there is always a favorite hangover food that you can look forward to instead of those damn hangover symptoms the morning after an epic night.
