I can’t wait to get back to UMass

Breaking news: Break is boring

As of this moment, I’ve been home for two weeks and five days.

Wait, scratch that. I’ve been travelling. Sorta. I’ve been to see family in Vermont and even trekked down to see the other side of the fam in Philadelphia, so let me rephrase: I’ve been away from school for two weeks and five days.

And I am bored out of my fucking mind. Like, I think I’ve gone numb at this point.

Gossip Girl isn’t here to judge, just to observe.

I never thought there would be a time in my life where I would miss school. As a freshman this year, I needed some time off to recover from the sudden and intense semester I just experienced (seriously, wtf just happened), so I was looking forward to break. But here I am, missing having just something, ANYTHING, to do.

As of this moment, I’ve watched all nine seasons of One Tree Hill. ALL NINE SEASONS. THAT’S SCARY. (Shout out to Chad Michael Murray – his beautiful brood will be forever unrivaled.)

I’ve annoyed the hell out of my immediate family with my inability to move along with my growing complaints of boredom. And worst of all, despite my obvious plea for entertainment that involves literally any kind of simulation, I can’t bring myself to actually to do anything.

Computer: Are you still watching? Me: SHUT UP

Facebook is a monotonous, middle-aged feed of things that I don’t care about, but my thumb gets to scroll through something, so I close and re-open the damn thing at least a 150 times a day.

Also, I think I’ve officially gained about half of the freshman fifteen (that I had previously been avoiding so well) due to the holidays. Thanks, Obama.

I know what you’re thinking, dear reader. You’re thinking, “Damn, this girl is pathetic! Those are awful excuses for entertainment.” But, reader, I must point out one thing; you’re on break too. And reading this article. You wouldn’t be reading this unless you as well found yourself in your once beloved hometown with absolutely nothing to do. And, despite the things you might think or say about me, I am happy to be of assistance.

As of this moment, I have 11 days before I go back to school and start wishing I was back at home doing nothing. Here’s looking at you, spring break!
