The 15 new restaurants opening in the USC Village
Get ready, Mark Wahlberg is moving in
Fifteen restaurants have confirmed their new storefronts in the USC Village – and don’t worry, they’re all Instagram-able.
The Tab compiled the list of eateries expected to open in the Village during the fall semester. So you can start planning your first meal back on campus, we did the dirty work for you and linked the menu for each restaurant in the list below. You’re welcome.
Happy drooling.
Honeybird
If you love fried chicken, Honeybird will become your new favorite lunch spot. The Southern-esque menu serves sandwiches, salads, and features hearty side-dishes for your fried chicken meal including brussel sprouts, mac ‘n cheese, and mashed potatoes.
Wahlburgers
To complement the celebrities on campus, a celebrity-owned chain restaurant is making its debut in the Village. Mark Wahlberg’s family burger joint serves everything from chicken sandwiches to sloppy joes to mac ‘n cheese…but they’re most known for their burgers, of course.
Rance’s Chicago Pizza
Rance’s Chicago Pizza joins Blaze and Pizza Studio in the fight to win the loyalty of pizza-loving Trojans. What does Rance’s bring to the table? Deep dish.
Trejo’s Tacos
Trejo’s Tacos will give La Barca a run for their money. They serve up tacos a la carte, burritos, bowls, enchiladas, quesadillas, and salads. Stop by in the morning for some horchata cold brew.
The Baked Bear
The Baked Bear is basically Cream, but dangerously close to your dorm (if you live in the Village). Pick cookies, a flavor of ice cream, and toppings to create your 21st Century Chipwich #neverforget.
Barilla Restaurant
A much needed Italian eatery by the Barilla Group will open for all of your pregame carbo-loading needs. Their menu boasts a list of pasta, pizza, salads, and paninis.
Dulce
Cafe Dulce is bringing a location to USC under the name “Dulce.” The trendy coffeeshop serves coffee drinks, tea drinks, and even has a “matcha bar.” Besides the extensive list of drinks, Dulce has a selection of sandwiches, salads, and sweets – think doughnuts.
Cava Grill
The build-your-own Mediterranean eatery serves salads, grain bowls, and pitas. Cava is known for their hummus and spreads, which they sell in-store and in grocery stores.
Greenleaf Gourmet ChopShop
Greenleaf is the everything stop: build your own salads, sandwiches, pizza, burgers, tacos, fish, filets, they have it all.
Starbucks
Old reliable.
SunLife Organics
Founded in Malibu, SunLife Organics is moving south to sell their juice in the Village. Their extensive açai bowl menu is sure to give Nektar and Amazebowls some competition.
The Butcher, The Baker, and the Cappuccino Maker (BBCM)
The Butcher, The Baker, and the Cappuccino Maker is pretty self-explanatory. Their brunch and dinner menus are a meat-lovers dream with steak, poultry, and fish.
*The Butcher, The Baker, and the Cappuccino Maker goes by “BBCM” because no one has time for that mouth-full of a name.
Rock & Reilly’s
Rock & Reilly’s is a pub with traditional Irish dishes like bangers & mash and fish & chips. Nonetheless, their long menu goes beyond traditional fare and also includes tacos, burgers, flatbreads, salads, and more.
Panera
Panera – the familiar go-to for a quick soup or salad run.
Asian Box
Asian Box is a build-your-own style eatery. Pick a base of either lettuce, rice, or noodles, then choose a protein, add on some toppings, and complete your order with a sauce. Think Asian-style Chipotle.
The Village is scheduled to open by move-in day, August 16, but it is unclear when the eateries and restaurants are opening.
Eat on, Trojans.
