Someone crashed into a bike rack on grounds
RIP bike racks
While most of the community is celebrating Founder’s Day (Happy Birthday, TJ!) and munching on free cake (thanks, Lawnies) someone else is having a very, very bad day.
The driver apparently had a cast on his right leg, and was attempting to drive with his left. Instead of hitting the brake, he overshot, hitting the gas instead.
Sic Semper Vespas
The Toyota Camry tore through several racks and murdered a Vespa, as well as a few bicycles.
CPD on the case
The Charlottesville Police were seen interviewing a young man who appeared to be a student on the bench outside Monroe. The student had crutches and appeared shaken, but otherwise okay.

While we might assume he had a little too much Wahoo juice, let’s be fair here: It’s a Toyota. The gas pedal was probably stuck.
