Fire crews are battling the blaze at the Excel Inn
Smoke could be seen across grounds today as firefighters battled a huge blaze at the Excel Inn.
The hotel, right by Lambeth, is believed to have caught ablaze earlier today.
A reporter from NBC29 tweeted that "guests evacuated, but possessions still inside."
Multiple fire engines attended the scene and UVA recreation tweeted that the outdoor rec center is closed for the evening.
