Meet Gorby the hedgehog and Buck the puppy, Yale’s cutest pets
We love #PetsOfYale
Gorbachev, or Gorby to his friends and followers, is a one-year-old hedgehog. This summer, senior Lizzie Hylton adopted him from his previous owner.
“He’s very easy to take care of,” she says. “He’s nocturnal and he eats everything.” Her advice to new or prospective hedgehog owners? “You have to be weird with it. Take them cool places at night, like Box or Bar. Take a lot of pictures.”
Likes: Meat, hiding, smelling things
Dislikes: Belly rubs, daytime, loud noises
Where you can find him: In Lizzie’s purse

Buck
And meet Buckingham “Buck” Links, Chi Psi’s newest pledge.
Only three months old, this Golden Retriever puppy is taking campus by storm. Don’t let his comically oversized feet and ridiculously fuzzy coat fool you – taking care of Buck is a lot of work. “He’s literally like a human child,” says senior Jack Belcaster. “So high maintenance.”
Not that anyone minds giving him the constant attention he begs for, of course.
Likes: Eating grass, snuggling, James Taylor
Dislikes: Being in his cage, potty training, teething
Where you can find him: Romping around Chi Psi’s interim house in Newhallville
Keep up with Buck by following him on Instagram, or adding any Chi Psi brother on snapchat.
Many thanks to Lizzie Hylton and the brothers of Chi Psi.
