Freshman pole vaulter by day, Instagram sensation by night

You’re gonna want to keep track of him

Austin Laut, Saybrook 2019

Austin is a member of the Mens Track and Field team as a standout freshman pole vaulter.

Not only is he a talented athlete but he also has a good group of “fan girls” loving his success photos. Austin’s Instagram is highlighted by awesome sports shots and vibrant photos from his California lifestyle.

For motivation to get off the couch, shoot him a follow… and apparently he’s single ladies…

How would you describe your Instagram style?

I would describe my Instagram style as active.

What are my inspirations?

My inspirations on Instagram range from local friends’ photos to surfing accounts that take pictures from ridiculous angles.

Anything you wish it did do?

I wish that it gave you the possibility to add music to your videos on the app. I have a few videos on my account with songs in the background and it makes them that much cooler. Unfortunately, I had to go through other apps like Instavideo to do so.

What photos do you see get the most likes?

The photos that I see get the most likes are the ones with bright colors. This is a huge trend that I have noticed. It helps to bump the saturation and/or warmth on your photo. This can really make the colors pop on your photos.

What advice would you give to aspiring Instagrammers?

If I had to give some advice, I’d say to post with purpose. No one likes to scroll through their feed and see random pictures of your cat that you posted because you were bored… Unless of course your Instagram is a cat account. This is actually another trend that I have found. Post when you find yourself with a photo that represents a big event in your life. Post when you find yourself with a photo that catches your eye every time. Lastly, post a photo that you enjoy. If you like it, odds are that others will too.
