I did Pawan’s bodybuilder workout for a day and lived to tell the tale

Doing leg day with the most ripped man at Yale

We all remember Pawan Vin Laporisuth? The most ripped man at Yale? Who is ALSO a neurology expert?

Well, after my initial interview I was so impressed I decided I wanted to learn how to be him, so I gave it a go.

Unfortunately I have zero capacity for Neuroscience, so I decided to try the bodybuilding aspect, thinking it would be easier for me. Boy was I wrong.

Pawan so graciously agreed to coach me through his work out, so we went to the gym and did LEG DAY. Imagine this: a six foot, 240 pound man and myself, a five foot five woman in way too colorful pants, walk into PWG determined to get this done.

We did his normal workout.

Leg extensions, three sets of 25 reps at 140lbs

I tried to do this at this weight, it was literally impossible for me, my legs almost broke at the knee. Pawan did it with no trouble at all! I continued my reps at 50 pounds in order to get a comparable effect.

One-leg leg press: four sets of 12 reps at 180lbs, 200lbs, 200lbs and 200lbs

The huge difference here is what I used two legs for, Pawan used one. He does these reps on each leg, to clarify that is 200lbs PER LEG.

You could definitely see the sweat coming in here while he was casually lifting 200lbs on each leg. I myself stuck to 180lbs for two legs.

Walking lunges: three sets of 22 reps at 115lbs

Lunges are the absolute bane of my existence, I used to cheat them during Water Polo practice in high school at any opportunity I could. But Pawan sees all, so cheating I did not.

I did however use a 25lb weight when he did 115lbs, carried on his shoulders and he did lunges. I literally had a fellow gym patron come up to me and say “You know you’re working out with the strongest guy at the gym?” my response was obviously “I know. That is why I am working out with him.”

Squats: three sets of 12 reps at 225lbs, 245lbs, 245lbs

Last but not least, squats. I started with the bar, and then moved up to 135lbs which I was able to do literally once (I need to get in the gym more often).

Pawan used his extremely large, muscular quads to lift these weights with little to no struggle. It was like watching someone lift a car with the tip of a finger, resulting in immense shock and awe.

Let’s discuss what I know everyone is wondering. How did it feel after the workout? The answer is like my body had been stretched and pulled like taffy. Going up stairs made me want to cry and going down stairs was even worse, this feeling lasted for days, not to mention was an interesting accent to my personal Halloweekend.

Now we must not forget in order to maintain his perfectly structured muscular form, diet is a huge factor as well. This is a part of his regiment I decided not to partake as I would have exploded like a volcano. My stomach does not have the capacity to consume what he does. Does yours? Check out a normal day in the kitchen of Pawan.

Pawan’s diet

Meal One

Six eggs

One cup of egg whites

One cup oats and one tbsp cinnamon

Meal Two

8oz red meat

12oz rice/pasta

Meal Four

8oz red meat

Meal Five

To confirm, that is FIVE meals per day necessary to maintain his size. The meals range from 15oz of food to 25oz. Please if anyone is able to consume a diet similar to this please let me know so I can watch and be impressed by your sheer power of consumption.

Case and point, Pawan is incredibly buff, incredibly intelligent, and incredibly good at eating insane amounts of food. So if you want to be incredible like him, refer to the guide above, just make sure to stretch or else you’ll be waddling around like I did! But if you’re lucky you may get some selfies with him displaying your buffness.
