Meet JE’s Sam Canava, the Instagrammer who photographs Yale through every season
We call them Yale-stagrams
Samantha Canava, JE 2018
There are many photographers who seek out the beautiful Yale architecture to rack in the Insta likes with pics of sunny spots, snowy scenes, etc. Of course, Yale’s not too bad of a model to work with, but no one can make Yale look as good as Sam Canava.
She could bring in serious bank if she printed her photos as postcards for the Yale bookstore. If you want to get some tips on how to take the best Yale-stagrams, or if you want to be awed by this magical Hogwarts-like campus we live on, look no further than Sam’s Insta.
What is your Insta style?
I’d like to think of my account as mostly nature-y. I’m obsessed with trees and sunsets and seasons.
Who are your inspirations for your photos?
Friends and others I follow.
What are your favorite things about Instagram? Do you have frustrations with its interface?
I love the convenient, easy-to use-editing, though higher resolution might be an improvement.
Have you noticed any specific types of photos that receive the most love?
The more spontaneous shots and CT-weather-takes-Yale posts tend to “bring in the likes.”
